1072
You may have notice that "Cloud" phrase is being a buzzword in the technology industries since several years back then. At that time, many organisations have been sceptical about the performance of the Cloud. They doubt in how secure the Cloud keep the data.

There are organisations that might still be spectical about it. However, a lot of organisations have change their mindset about Cloud. Even the banking industries that is sensitive about data protection have been start allowing the usage of Cloud. Taking the example from World Bank that switched mail server to Cloud, cutting cost to maintain the server.

There are a lot of reason why moving to the Cloud can be advantageous for your organisation. Here are why:

Cost. In the on-premise solution, we have to purchase the server and also the maintenance cost that is usually up to 20% the license cost, unlike the Cloud subscription scheme. We can reduce the total cost of ownership. Like the World Bank case above, they were able to cut the cost to maintain the mail server up to 50%.
Access to Innovation. The technologies are keep evolving rapidly. We cannot keep up with it. Once you purchase the on-premise solution, it will be time and cost consuming to upgrade to the latest version. But, Cloud allows you to be on the latest version immediately.
Security. It is always been the main concerns for organisations to start adopting Cloud solution. However this days many have realized that Cloud is as secure as on-premise solution. It is only the matter of using the right security tools meant for the Cloud, not the on-premise one.
Of course, there will be some disadvantageous of using Cloud. Compare both will give you insight to make the right decision on how you can use the Cloud for your business.
